Love gay movie

Attempting to discover a heartwarming "gay" film to view is comparable to engaging in a game of Russian Roulette with your inner self, and I deem that dreadful: There exists a distinction between a "gay drama", a "significant gay movie", a "gay romance", and a "gay rom-com"... and I'm here to champion the latter two!

Each motion picture in this compilation is, SPOILER ALERT, certain to culminate joyfully, with the two protagonists living happily ever after.

I am fond of romance movies, and I will not apologize for it! Because occasionally it is crucial to be aware, when you opt to observe a movie, that the adorable twosome you're delighted for is not going to be demolished by horrific demise or separated indefinitely in solitary despondency by the moment the credits commence.

Alas, in gay cinema, our most-mainstream film concludes with our central character sniffing the jacket of a man who was tire-ironed to death on the verge of a highway; our most critically-acclaimed flick ends with our ill-fated lovers hurtling themselves to their demises against an electric fence. Needless to say, the "gay romance" genre has been entirely superseded by the "Gay" genre, with a capital "G": The meaningful, the artful, the insightful and the powerful.

Forget that stuff!

I mean, it's bad enough that "gay" is practically everything we obtain in a movie classification. Apart from the fact that a film's been vaguely targeted towards us, we possess absolutely no clue what we're in for when we commence watching! I mean, Christ, is a touch of specificity excessive to request in a genre? A devastating, powerful, hard-hitting gay drama like "Bent" ought not to be on the exact same shelf as my scratched-from-overuse copy of "Shelter", dammit!
