<p>Though it may sound like a stereotype, I suspect Vassar may contain a bigger GLT population than Midd. From my perception of Vassar, they're well-known for having a WONDERFUL theater department (and therefore lies my generalized response that might potentially upset somebody, even if it's meant to trouble no one). In short, I know three men, all homosexual, who are loving their time at Vassar. A small sample, for certain… </p>

<p>The far superior response, obviously, is that there is an existence of Queer life at ALL of these establishments. How queer does it have to be? Only you can know where you are in that expedition and if you would like to stride into shoes already utilized, or if you envision yourself more in a pair, completely your own… </p>

<p>So, here's what I recommend: </p>

<p>If you desire a truly frank, inside assessment about Midd, I suggest contacting the president of the open queer alliance club (<a href='http://blogs.middlebury.edu/moqa/about/[/url]'>http://blogs.middlebury.edu/moqa/about/&lt;/a&gt;) and simply pose the question exactly as you put it here. </p>

<p>I am cognizant of the fact there's an entire week devoted to developing awareness and community in October, and then, too, something takes place in the spring. I didn't observe on that MOQA page where they've listed contact details, yet, since I've essentially made it a practice of reading the school's newspaper, I do understand that the new leadership appears extremely proactive, forming initiatives with SGA, etc. How far-reaching is the acceptance at this stage? Although I think a school publication is an excellent sign, asking the query directly is still your finest approach. </p>

<p>Once again, if there's potential for growth (which, I suppose, is merely a matter of degree between all three schools, as I mentioned), this likewise allows for your own growth. If you are out and comfortable with your sexuality, you can be certain to discover easy involvement, open to leadership. If you simply want to live a life devoid of ridicule or harassment, forging friendships with those who care for you, I think this is also readily available. You will not be in the majority at any of these schools, and I'm unable to provide commentary on the dating scene/ease for gays OR heterosexuals. </p>

<p>Unfortunately, this site doesn't get many Midd pupils commenting, and on a subject like this, it's evolving generally; it is most likely progressing in a positive direction, becoming more and more so each year.</p>

<p>I'd begin to peruse all three school newspapers, employing keywords such as Gay Straight Alliance, Gender, Queer Studies, and others as keywords. Here are a few from Midd to get you started. (In reality, you can also find the names of current leadership and then search the name on Midd's directory to retrieve an email address). </p>
