2025 Highlights
Following a milestone in Pennsylvania LGBTQ+ history—50 years since Governor Milton Shapp's executive order protecting LGBTQ+ Pennsylvanians from discrimination—the Philly Pride March & Festival begins its Pride Month festivities with advocacy, inclusive celebration, and a plethora of "Philly L.U.V."

Pride March
Honoring the 1960s Annual Reminders, the Philly Pride March summons the LGBTQ+ community and allies to demonstrate LGBTQ+ visibility and solidarity in the streets.
Commencing at 10:30 a.m. near 6th & Walnut streets, this community procession starts with addresses, music, and a land acknowledgment from the Lenape Tribe, before traversing from Old City to the Pride Festival grounds.
The pedestrian parade features hundreds of LGBTQ+ individuals, groups, leaders, and allies marching side-by-side, with Philly Pride's expanding rainbow banner—now the largest in Philly's history at an impressive 600 feet—presenting a vibrant spectacle.
Participation in the march is open to all; no pre-registration is required. Check the official site in the lead-up to Pride for the official route.

Pride Festival
Immediately following the march, the Pride Festival commences in the Gayborhood from noon until 7 p.m. Boosted for 2025, this year's festival spreads across a wider area, from Walnut to Pine streets, and Quince to Juniper streets.
During the celebrations, over two hundred attractions line the streets, including performers, food vendors, local bars, community groups, and exhibitors.

New in 2025, the event features six distinct entertainment zones, including:
- Legacy Zone: A jubilant retrospective of LGBTQ+ history with classic tunes.
- Unity Zone: A high-energy atmosphere with drag shows, DJs, and local performers.
- Visibility Zone: A dynamic area with dance floors and exciting performances.
- Everyone Zone: An area suitable for all ages, with age-appropriate programming such as drag storytime, games, youth performers, and community resources.
- Relaxed Zone: A tranquil space for relaxing with calm music and entertainment, and
- Sapphic Zone: A haven for WLW and women-aligned nonbinary folks, featuring LGBTQ+-women-centered displays and a ballroom competition.
Throughout these zones, attendees can discover exciting local vendors, their favorite Gayborhood bars, including Woody's, UBar and Tavern On Camac, and enjoy live stage performances.

In addition to the entertainment areas, the sensory-friendly section returns inside The Church of Saint Luke & The Epiphany, providing seating, shade, and accessibility features for festivalgoers, as does the sober-friendly zone, offering a fun, alcohol-free area for adults.
Visit Philly staff says…
Philly's renowned enthusiasm, exemplified by the city's Super Bowl celebrations, extends beyond sporting events. The energy and excitement surrounding Pride are palpable.
Last year, experiencing the Philly Pride Festival with my partner was incredibly moving. Despite the ongoing challenges facing the LGBTQ+ community, the festival showcased exceptional vivacity, respect, and inclusivity.
My favorite aspect? Undoubtedly the spirited performances on numerous stages and street-based drag shows.
Pro tip: Arrive early, bring refreshment, and embrace the celebratory spirit! Love is love.
